INVOCAVIT.COM, SURABAYA- Kepala Kepolisian Daerah (Kapolda) Jawa Timur Irjen Nico Afinta mengungkap alasan menembakkan gas air mata kepada suporter Arema FC saat kerusuhan terjadi di Stadion Kanjuruhan, Malang, Jawa Timur. Menurutnya, tindakan tersebut untuk menghalau suporter yang merangsek turun ke lapangan.
“Seandainya suporter mematuhi aturan, peristiwa ini tidak akan terjadi. Semoga tidak terjadi lagi peristiwa seperti ini,” ucapnya dalam konferensi pers di Mapolres Malang, Minggu (2/10).
Nico mengklaim, penembakan gas air mata kepada suporter Arema FC sudah sesuai prosedur. Namun, tindakan ini membuat banyak suporter mengalami sesak napas.
“Para suporter berlarian ke salah satu titik di Pintu 12 Stadion Kanjuruhan. Saat terjadi penumpukan itulah, banyak yang mengalami sesak napas,” jelasnya.
Sementara itu, Kadiv Humas Polri Irjen Dedi Prasetyo menyatakan masih terus bekerja menuntaskan penanganan usai insiden tersebut. “Biar tim bekerja dulu dari Polda Jatim,” tutur Dedi.
Dedi enggan menanggapi lebih jauh terkait dugaan langkah penanganan yang berlebihan atau pun kelalaian dari aparat kepolisian saat terjun ke lapangan menangani massa. Tragedi Stadion Kanjuruhan sejauh ini memakan korban hingga 130 jiwa.
“Jangan berandai-andai dulu, biar tim bekerja,” kata Dedi.
Menurut Dedi, Polda Jawa Timur masih terus bekerja bersama dengan PT Liga Indonesia Baru sebagai operator pertandingan, dan stake holder terkait lainnya dalam rangka menangani insiden tersebut.
“Langkah saat ini tim DVI Dokkes Polri siang ini akan berangkat segera ke Malang untuk back up Tim DVI Polda Jatim dan dokter setempat guna percepatan identifikasi korban dan fokus untuk memberikan pertolongan medis kepada korban-korban yang saat ini dirawat di beberapa rumah sakit,” Dedi menandaskan.
Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) menyoroti penggunaan gas air mata saat upaya pengendalian massa dalam tragedi Stadion Kanjuruhan, Malang, Jawa Timur. Pasalnya, hal tersebut dilarang oleh federasi sepak bola dunia atau FIFA.
Ketua IPW Sugeng Teguh Santoso menyampaikan bahwa kericuhan dalam tragedi Kanjuruhan itu berawal dari kekecewaan suporter tim tuan rumah yakni Arema, yang turun ke lapangan tanpa dapat dikendalikan oleh pihak keamanan.
“Bahkan, aparat kepolisian yang tidak sebanding dengan jumlah penonton, secara membabi buta menembakkan gas air mata sehingga menimbulkan kepanikan terhadap penonton yang jumlahnya ribuan,” tutur Sugeng kepada wartawan, Minggu (2/10).
Usai gas air mata ditembakkan, lanjut Sugeng, banyak penonton yang kesulitan bernapas dan akhirnya pingsan. Buntutnya, banyak jatuh korban yang terinjak-injak di area Stadion Kanjuruhan Malang.
“Padahal, penggunaan gas air mata di stadion sepak bola sesuai aturan FIFA dilarang. Hal itu tercantum dalam FIFA Stadium Safety and Security Regulations pada pasal 19 huruf b disebutkan bahwa sama sekali tidak diperbolehkan mempergunakan senjata api atau gas pengendali massa,” jelas dia.
Sugeng menyatakan bahwa polisi harus mengusut tuntas tragedi jatuhnya ratusan korban tewas dalam ajang sepak bola nasional. Jangan sampai proses pidana menguap begitu saja, seperti hilangnya nyawa dua bobotoh di Stadion Gelora Bandung Lautan Api pada Juni lalu.
“Lebih penting dari tewasnya 127 suporter tersebut, Presiden Jokowi harus memberikan perhatian terhadap dunia sepakbola di Indonesia yang selalu ricuh dan menelan korban jiwa. Kemudian, Ketua Umum PSSI Mochamad Iriawan seharusnya malu dan mengundurkan diri dengan adanya peristiwa terburuk di sepak bola nasional,” Sugeng menandaskan. [ant)
