Dalam Pembukaan Konferensi Tingkat Tinggi (KTT) Women20 (W20) Summit tampak hadir Irwasda Polda Sumut Kombes Pol Drs Armiah Fahmi, MH, mewakili Kapolda Sumatera Utara Irjen. Pol. Drs. R. Z. Panca Putra S. M.Si.
Dalam sembutannya Chair W20 Indonesia Handriani Uli Silalahi berharap para pemimpin G20 akan mengadopsi komunike atau rekomendasi dari W20 guna mengatasi kesenjangan gender dan memberdayakan perempuan serta penyandang disabilitas, terutama di wilayah pedesaan.
“Pandemi Covid-19 semakin memperparah akses perempuan terhadap pekerjaan. Jika merujuk data ILO, di tingkat global, diperkirakan ada 5 persen perempuan yang mengalami kehilangan pekerjaan pada 2020, dibandingkan dengan 3,9 persen untuk laki-laki,” ujar Uli, Selasa (19/7/2022).
Lebih lanjut, kata Uli, KTT W20 yang sedang diselenggarakan tersebut harus membuat perubahan positif bagi situasi dan kondisi perempuan. Uli mengatakan sudah saatnya W20 menjadi platform yang harus bisa mengubah pola pikir pemimpin G20 untuk memperhatikan pemberdayaan perempuan dan kesetaraan gender.
Senada dengan Uli, Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif Sandiaga Uno mengatakan secara global, 54 persen dari semua pekerja di bidang pariwisata adalah perempuan. Di Indonesia, tambah Sandi angkanya sedikit lebih tinggi yaitu 55 persen.
“Ini memperlihatkan perempuan seringkali menjadi tulang punggung pariwisata dan ekonomi kreatif, pilar kesejahteraan masyarakat serta penjaga warisan budaya kita. Sederhananya, tanpa perempuan, kita tidak akan dapat memulihkan ekonomi. Mendukung perempuan untuk berdaya dan mengeluarkan potensi penuhnya adalah kepentingan kita semua,” jelas Sandi.
Bagi Sandi, pemulihan pariwisata dan ekonomi kreatif tercermin dalam perluasan peluang usaha, penciptaan lapangan kerja, dan pemberdayaan UKM, dengan perempuan berada di garda depan.
Sebagai informasi, KTT W20 yang berlangsung 19-21 Juli 2022 ini dihadiri 41 delegasi dari 15 negara dan berfokus membahas topik kesetaraan gender dan pemberdayaan perempuan, terutama perempuan marjinal yang berada di pedesaan dan penyandang disabilitas.
Isu-isu yang dibahas tersebut terkait erat dengan bahasan di Working Group maupun Engagement Group di seluruh Presidensi G20. Selanjutnya, rekomendasi atau komunike dari W20 akan dibawa di KTT G20 yang rencananya digelar pada 15-16 November 2022.(jos).
