Jakarta, Invocavit.Com- Direktorat Jenderal Pajak (DJP) Kementerian Keuangan (Kemenkeu) meresmikan penggunaan Nomor Induk Kependudukan (NIK) sebagai Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak (NPWP).
Direktur Jenderal Pajak Suryo Utomo mengatakan kebijakan ini akan memberikan kemudahan bagi masyarakat karena tak perlu lagi mendaftarkan diri ke Kantor Pelayanan Pajak (KPP). Sebab, integrasi NIK menjadi NPWP sudah berjalan.
“Orang wajib pajak kini dapat menggunakan NIK dalam memenuhi hak dan kewajiban perpajakannya,” ungkap Suryo dalam keterangan resmi yang dirilis Selasa (19/7).
Ia mengatakan 19 juta NIK sudah terintegrasi dengan NPWP. Hal ini berarti belasan juta orang itu sudah bisa menggunakan NIK untuk melapor SPT mulai tahun ini.
“Baru 19 juta NIK yang kami dapat lakukan pemadanan dengan Direktorat Jenderal Administrasi Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil (Disdukcapil),” kata Suryo.
Sebelumnya, Direktur Penyuluhan, Pelayanan, dan Hubungan Masyarakat DJP Neilmaldrin Noor pihaknya bekerja sama dengan Disdukcapil mengintegrasikan NIK menjadi NPWP.
“Data WP tetap rahasia. Jadi bukan berarti dengan perpaduan sistem, (pihak) sini bisa baca, pihak sana bisa baca. Jadi tidak perlu khawatir,” kata dia.
Ia menjamin semua data wajib pajak dijamin oleh Undang-Undang Ketentuan Umum dan Tata Cara Perpajakan (UU KUP).
“Karena kami terikat dengan UU, data WP tidak mungkin kami ungkap sembarangan,” tutup Neilmaldrin.(djp)
