INVOCAVIT.COM, JAKARTA – PT PLN (Persero) terus melakukan transformasi melalui inovasi untuk meningkatkan pelayanan tenaga listrik di Indonesia. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan adalah dengan mulai mengimplementasikan smart meter berbasis Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).
Alat pengukur penggunaan listrik tersebut dilengkapi sistem komunikasi digital yang lebih canggih, akurat dan berkualitas.
Direktur Utama PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo, menjelaskan, dengan implementasi smart meter AMI membuat kenyamanan pelanggan semakin meningkat. Dengan smart meter AMI para pelanggan bisa mengetahui profil beban sekaligus tagihan listrik berjalan secara realtime melalui aplikasi PLN Mobile.
“Dengan smart meter AMI, pelanggan bisa memantau penggunaan listrik secara realtime melalui aplikasi PLN Mobile, tidak perlu menunggu tagihan di akhir bulan. Dengan begitu, pelanggan dapat mengendalikan penggunaan energi dan rekening tagihan listrik sesuai kebutuhan. Artinya, semua semakin mudah karena dapat dikendalikan hanya dalam satu genggaman,” ucap Darmawan.
Penggunaan smart meter AMI membuat pola layanan juga lebih fleksibel karena pelanggan bebas memilih layanan pascabayar atau prabayar. Selain itu, PLN dapat mempercepat recovery time apabila terjadi gangguan listrik dikarenakan dapat terdeteksi oleh sistem secara realtime.
“Oleh karena itu, kami akan melaksanakan program pembaruan kWh meter yang terpasang di rumah pelanggan menjadi smart meter AMI. Program ini gratis. Pelanggan tidak perlu mengeluarkan biaya,” jelas Darmawan.
Melalui penggunaan smart meter AMI, pembacaan meter yang sebelumnya dilakukan secara manual (door to door) oleh petugas, kini bisa dilakukan secara digital, sehingga lebih akurat serta privasi pelanggan akan lebih terjaga.
“Penerapan smart meter berbasis AMI ini membawa banyak manfaat. Pembacaan data meter secara real time dan dilakukan dari jarak jauh sehingga tidak diperlukan lagi pembacaan meter ke lokasi. Dengan demikian privasi pelanggan juga lebih terjaga,” papar Darmawan.
Petugas hanya akan datang ke rumah pelanggan untuk melakukan pemeliharaan atau pengecekan fisik apabila ditemukan data anomali atau gangguan pada media komunikasi dan smart meter.
Ditargetkan pada akhir tahun 2023 program ini akan dilaksanakan bagi 1.217.256 pelanggan secara bertahap dan mencakup beberapa daerah seperti di Jawa Timur (Sidoarjo), Jawa Tengah (Magelang), Jawa Barat (Bandung), Jakarta, Banten, Bali, Medan, dan Makassar mulai bulan Juni 2023.
PLN sudah memulai penelitian dan uji coba smart meter AMI ke pelanggan di sejumlah lokasi. Jumlah pelanggan yang sudah menggunakan smart meter berbasis AMI hingga saat ini sudah sebanyak 103.615 pelanggan.
Menurut Darmawan, sejumlah negara yang sudah menerapkan smart meter AMI terbukti mampu menghemat penggunaan energi dan menekan biaya operasional untuk pengecekan meter secara langsung.
Di Austria misalnya, penerapan AMI tercatat mampu menghemat energi hingga 55% dan menghemat biaya operasional hingga 19%. Sementara Belanda mampu menghemat 15% energi, dan menekan biaya operasional hingga 15%.
Darmawan menambahkan, produk smart meter berbasis AMI juga tidak hanya bermanfaat untuk kelistrikan, namun bisa dikembangkan untuk bisnis beyond kWh.
“AMI juga bisa dikembangkan ke produk beyond kWh, mulai dari energi baru terbarukan, kendaraan listrik, internet, teknologi pertanian, perangkat smart home, smart prepayment,” tutur Darmawan. (rel)
