Jalan Medan-Berastagi Kembali Dibuka: Penanganan Longsor dan Pengawasan Ketat Tetap Berlanjut

MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM –  Setelah beberapa hari ditutup akibat longsor, akses jalan Medan-Berastagi di Kecamatan Sibolangit resmi dibuka kembali untuk umum pada Senin (2/12/2024) pukul 09.00 WIB.

Keputusan pembukaan jalan ini dilakukan setelah rapat koordinasi intensif antara Polda Sumut, Balai Besar Jalan Nasional, BPBD, Basarnas, dan instansi terkait lainnya. Meski sudah operasional, proses pembersihan sisa material longsor masih terus dilakukan guna memastikan keamanan dan kelancaran bagi pengguna jalan.

Direktur Lalu Lintas Polda Sumut, Kombes Pol Muji Ediyanto, S.H., S.I.K., M.A.P., menegaskan bahwa keputusan pembukaan jalan dilakukan setelah melalui evaluasi menyeluruh. “Kami sepakat untuk membuka jalan mulai pukul 9 pagi setelah memastikan sejumlah aspek keselamatan. Namun, pengawasan ketat tetap dilakukan, termasuk patroli dan pengaturan lalu lintas oleh rekan-rekan kepolisian,” ujarnya.

Kombes Pol Muji juga menambahkan bahwa pos pemantauan telah didirikan oleh Balai Jalan Nasional di lokasi longsor, dengan fokus pada antisipasi potensi bahaya jika cuaca buruk kembali melanda.

Walau lalu lintas kembali normal, material lumpur di tepi jalan masih menjadi perhatian utama. “Sisa lumpur di sisi jalan masih cukup banyak, dan jika hujan deras kembali turun, lumpur ini berpotensi meluber ke badan jalan. Oleh karena itu, proses pembersihan oleh Balai Jalan Nasional tetap berlangsung untuk mencegah gangguan lebih lanjut,” kata Kombes Pol Muji.

Ia juga menekankan bahwa pembukaan jalan bersifat situasional, dengan kemungkinan penutupan sementara jika cuaca buruk terjadi, untuk melindungi keselamatan para pengguna jalan.

Evakuasi kendaraan yang sebelumnya tertimbun material longsor juga hampir selesai. Sebagian besar kendaraan telah berhasil dievakuasi, sementara satu unit mobil yang masih tertinggal direncanakan akan ditarik menggunakan crane hari ini. Upaya evakuasi ini diharapkan dapat menyelesaikan semua kendala di lokasi longsor, sehingga akses jalan dapat sepenuhnya pulih tanpa hambatan.

Untuk meminimalkan risiko kepadatan lalu lintas dan mempermudah perjalanan, Kombes Pol Muji merekomendasikan penggunaan jalur alternatif. “Bagi kendaraan kecil atau pribadi, jalur alternatif melalui Sembahe atau Tuntungan dapat digunakan. Sedangkan untuk kendaraan besar atau berat, kami sarankan menggunakan rute Pematang Siantar. Ini dilakukan untuk menjaga kelancaran di jalur utama,” jelasnya.

Koordinasi dengan berbagai pihak terus dilakukan untuk memastikan lalu lintas tetap aman dan terkendali. Dengan tetap mengutamakan keselamatan dan kewaspadaan, Polda Sumut bersama seluruh pihak berkomitmen memberikan pelayanan terbaik bagi masyarakat serta menjaga kelancaran lalu lintas di jalur strategis ini.***
