Langkat, INVOCAVIT.COM: Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Kabupaten Langkat menyebutkan berdasarkan data resmi BPS tahun 2024, Langkat menempati peringkat ke-11 dari 33 kabupaten/kota di Sumatera Utara, dengan persentase penduduk miskin sebesar 9,04%.
“Ada sekitar kurang lebih 96,5 ribu masyarakat yang tergolong miskin di Langkat,” jelas Ervin, Selasa (12/8).
Ia menjelaskan, penduduk miskin adalah mereka yang memiliki rata-rata pengeluaran per kapita per bulan di bawah Garis Kemiskinan — yaitu nilai pengeluaran minimum untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dasar makanan setara 2.100 kilokalori per kapita per hari, ditambah kebutuhan dasar non-makanan seperti perumahan, pendidikan, dan kesehatan.
BPS mencatat, angka kemiskinan di Langkat menunjukkan tren penurunan dalam lima tahun terakhir. Pada 2019, persentase penduduk miskin tercatat 9,91%, kemudian menurun menjadi 9,73% (2020), 10,12% (2021), 9,49% (2022), 9,23% (2023), hingga mencapai 9,04% pada 2024. Data ini membuktikan bahwa upaya pengentasan kemiskinan yang dilakukan pemerintah daerah bersama berbagai pihak berjalan progresif meski menghadapi tantangan ekonomi global.
Berdasarkan grafik BPS, lima daerah dengan tingkat kemiskinan tertinggi di Sumut adalah Nias Barat (22,68%), Nias Utara, Nias Selatan, Nias, dan Kota Gunung Sitoli. Sementara, daerah dengan tingkat kemiskinan terendah adalah Deli Serdang (3,44%). Persentase penduduk miskin Langkat tercatat sedikit di atas rata-rata provinsi Sumut (7,99%) dan hampir sama dengan rata-rata nasional (9,03%).
Menanggapi hal ini, Bupati Langkat H. Syah Afandin, SH menegaskan komitmennya untuk terus menurunkan angka kemiskinan melalui berbagai program yang berpihak pada masyarakat.
“Kita terus berproses, berbagai upaya kita lakukan untuk menurunkan angka kemiskinan. Bantu saya untuk bersama menuntaskan ini,” ujarnya.
Pemerintah Kabupaten Langkat akan melanjutkan program pemberdayaan ekonomi, penciptaan lapangan kerja, serta penguatan sektor produktif masyarakat guna mempercepat pengentasan kemiskinan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan warga.(mp).
