Sebuah gudang diduga tempat pengoplosan gas beroperasi di Kawasan Industri Medan (KIM) 5 Tangkahan, Kecamatan Medan Labuhan.
Informasi diperoleh menyebutkan, gudang gas oplosan itu telah beroperasi selama satu bulan. Untuk mengelabui petugas dan masyarakat, gudang itu ditutupi seng dan bagian depan dijaga sekelompok orang diduga preman.
Setiap harinya, sejumlah truk pengangkut tabung gas elpiji 3 kilogram (kg) berasal dari Tebingtinggi, Serdang Bedagai (Sergai) dan Medan masuk ke gudang yang dikelola oleh empat pria berinisial M, Z, D dan K tersebut.
Bahan baku gas 3 kg itu kemudian dioplos, ganti tabung ke ukuran 12 kg dan 15 kg. Selanjutnya, gas yang telah dioplos itu dipasarkan ke sejumlah daerah hingga Provinsi Aceh.
Gudang pengoplosan gas yang beroperasi di KIM 5 itu sebelumnya di Kelurahan Rengas Pulau, Pasar V, Marelan.
“Setelah digerebek petugas gabungan, sempat pindah ke Desa Saentis, Percut Seituan, Kabupaten Deliserdang, dan kini beroperasi di KIM 5,” sebut warga.
Sementara, Kasubbid Penmas Polda Sumut, AKBP Siti Rohani mengatakan, pihaknya akan menindaklanjuti setiap informasi adanya praktik ilegal atau tindak pidana yang terjadi di wilayah hukumnya.
“Informasi sekecil apapun dari masyarakat tentang adanya pelanggaran hukum, pasti kita tindaklanjuti. Kita akan selidiki praktik pengoplosan gas itu,” tandas AKBP Siti Rohani, Jumat (8/8/2025).
Sebelumnya, tim gabungan dari Badan Intelijen Strategis (BAIS) TNI, Kejaksaan Tinggi Sumatera Utara (Kejatisu), Polri, Kodim 0201/Medan, Pertamina, dan Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan (Disperindag) Sumut, menggerebek dua gudang penyalahgunaan gas subsidi di kawasan Marelan, Senin (24/2/2025) siang.
Dua gudang itu masing-masing berlokasi di Jalan Jala IV, Lingkungan III, Kelurahan Rengas Pulau, Pasar V, Marelan. Di dalam gudang tim menemukan ribuan tabung gas berbagai ukuran yang siap diedarkan secara ilegal. Temuan ini mengungkap praktik konversi gas subsidi 3 kilogram (kg) ke tabung gas nonsubsidi 5,5 kg, 12 kg, dan 50 kg menggunakan peralatan modifikasi.
Selain itu, tim juga menemukan peralatan khusus yang digunakan untuk memindahkan isi gas dari tabung subsidi ke tabung nonsubsidi. Ribuan segel gas, kode batang (barcode) ilegal, serta karet pengaman juga ditemukan dalam penggerebekan ini.

Dalam penggerebekan ini, selain ribuan tabung gas dan peralatan konversi, tim gabungan juga menemukan sejumlah barang bukti lainnya, antara lain, sebuah airsoft gun beserta ratusan butir mimis, dua buku rekening tabungan, sembilan alat komunikasi Handy Talky (HT), dua unit telepon genggam android, beberapa kartu identitas, sejumlah uang tunai sebesar Rp300 ribu dan beberapa unit mobil pickup yang diduga digunakan untuk distribusi ilegal gas.(jos)
