Langkat, INVOCAVIT.COM – Banjir yang melanda Sumatera Utara terus meluas. Setelah Sibolga, Tapanuli Tengah dan Tapanuli Selatan, hujan yang mengguyur seluruh kawasan di Sumut selama tiga hari berturut-turut, Rabu sore (26/11/2025), turut merendam Kabupaten Langkat.
Salah satu kawasan terparah yang terendam banjir adalah Kecamatan Babalan. Tidak hanya merendam ratusan rumah penduduk dan fasilitas umum, banjir dengan tinggi variatif hingga hampir satu meter itu, turut merendam Rumah Tahanan Negara (Rutan) Kelas II B Pangkalan Brandan yang berlokasi di Jalan Stasiun.
Untuk mengantisipasi segala kemungkinan, atas nama kemanusiaan, Kantor Wilayah Direktorat Jenderal Pemasyarakatan (Kanwil Ditjen Pas) Sumut, melakukan aksi gerak cepat.
Ratusan warga binaan pemasyarakatan (WBP) baik titipan ataupun yang sudah divonis, langsung dievakuasi ke tempat lebih aman.
Karutan Kelas II B Pangkalan Brandan Akmalun Ihsan mengungkapkan, jumlah WBP yang dievakuasi akibat banjir sebanyak 435 orang.
“Karena situasi sudah tidak memungkinkan mengingatkan debit air banjir yang merendam terus meningkat, seluruh warga binaan terpaksa kami pindahkan ke tempat yang lebih aman,” terangnya saat dikonfirmasi melalui pesan singkat WhatsApp.
Menurutnya, seluruh WBP dipindahkan ke tiga lokasi yang seluruhnya masih berada di kabupaten Langkat.
“Mereka kita pindahkan ke tiga tempat antara lain ke Lapas Klas 3 Pemuda Langkat, Lapas Narkotika Kelas II A Langkat dan Rutan Tanjung Pura,” ujarnya.
Pantauan di lokasi, proses pemindahan para warga binaan berlangsung dramatis. Dengan pengawalan ketat petugas, mereka terlihat berjalan beriringan menuju bus yang akan mengangkut warga binaan ke lokasi lapas atau rutan tujuan.
