INVOCAVIT.COM, MEDAN – Senat Universitas Negeri Medan menggelar Rapat Senat dengan agenda penyaringan Calon Rektor Unimed periode 2023-2027. Rapat dipimpin langsung oleh Ketua Senat Prof. Dr. Syawal Gultom, M.Pd., didampingi Sekretaris Senat Winsyahputra Ritonga, S.Pd., M.Si.
Rapat senat yang berlangsung di Ruang Sidang A Lt. III Gedung Administrasi Unimed, Kamis, (13/4/2023) dihadiri oleh utusan dari Kemdikbudristek yakni Andi Irawan dan Adi Sulistyo, staf Diktiristek, dan 52 Anggota Senat Unimed seluruhnya hadir.
Sebelum dilakukan penyaringan calon rektor, Ketua Senat memberi kesempatan kepada empat Balon Rektor Unimed untuk menyampaikan visi misi. Empat Balon Rektor yang menyampaikan visi dan misi, yakni : Dr. Marice, M.Hum., Dr. Jamalum Purba, M.Si., Dr. Erond Litno Damanik, M.Si. dan Prof. Dr. Baharuddin, ST., M.Pd.
Dalam paparannya, Dr. Marice, M.Hum. menyampaikan visi untuk menciptakan Unimed menjadi pusat unggulan dalam menghasilkan lulusan berkarakter, mengembangkan inovasi industri dan budaya untuk pembangunan ekonomi bangsa. Dengan misi untuk Mengembangkan dan menerapkan inovasi pendidikan dan pembelajaran untuk menghasilkan lulusan yang kompeten dan berkarakter dalam mewarnai perubahan, Mengembangkan inovasi industri melalui riset masa depan dengan pendekatan inter disiplin, multidisiplin dan transdisiplin, menerapkan budaya jujur dan komitmen kebersamaan untuk kemandirian institusi dan socio-technopreneurship dan menerapkan manajemen modern sehingga Unimed menjadi tempat yang nyaman dan menyenangkan untuk belajar dan bekerja
Sementara Dr. Jamalum Purba, M.Si. tetap melanjutkan visi Unimed sebelumnya menjadi Universitas yang unggul di bidang Pendidikan, Rekayasa Industri dan Budaya. Dengan program kerja melanjutkan program kerja Rektor sebelumnya, Menghasilkan lulusan sebagai tenaga pendidik yang profesional dan berkarakter, Menghasilkan peneliti baik di bidang ilmu pendidikan maupun ilmu murni, Menghasilkan lulusan yang relevan dengan kebutuhan stakeholder bidangnya, Pelayanan berkualitas dan sistem komunikasi yang dibutuhkan bagi peningkatan kinerja SDM dan produktivitas stakeholder.
Kemudian Dr. Erond Litno Damanik, M.Si. menyampaikan visinya menjadi Universitas Bereputasi dan Berkarakter atas Penyelenggaraan Tri Dharma, dengan misi Menyelenggarakan & mengembangkan Tri Dharma secara bertanggungjawab; Mengembangkan & memantapkan kerjasama atas research and teaching factory, dan Memantapkan afmoster akademik sehat & berintegritas.
Kandidat terakhir Prof. Dr. Baharuddin, ST., M.Pd. menyampaikan visinya Menjadi Universitas Unggul dan Berdaya Saing Global dalam Penyelengaraan Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, serta Pengembangan IPTEKS dan Budaya. Dengan melakukan Peningkatan kualitas pengajaran dan pembelajaran, Peningkatan kualitas penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, Peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia, Peningkatan efektivitas dan efisiensi pengelolaan institusi, Peningkatan kerja sama nasional dan internasional, Peningkatan keterlibatan masyarakat dan Mewujudkan program studi terakreditasi internasional.
Setelah menyampaikan visi misi, dilanjutkan pemilihan calon rektor, diperolehan suara terbanyak adalah Prof. Dr. Baharuddin, ST., M.Pd. mendapatkan 46 suara. Dr. Erond Litno Damanik, M.Si. memperoleh 3 suara, Dr. Marice, M.Hum. memperoleh 2 suara, dan Dr. Jamalum Purba, M.Si. memperoleh 1 suara.
Setelah selesai acara penyaringan calon rektor, Ketua Senat Prof. Syawal Gultom menyampaikan menetapkan dan mengesahkan tiga calon rektor hasil penyaringan yaitu 1). Prof. Dr. Baharuddin, ST., M.Pd., 2). Dr. Erond Litno Damanik, M.Si. dan 3). Dr. Marice, M.Hum Periode 2023 – 2027.
“Ketiga calon Rektor Unimed ini akan kami sampaikan kepada Menteri Kemdikbudristek. Kami juga mengucapkan terima kasih kepada panitia yang bertugas dengan baik, seluruh anggota senat dan perwakilan kemendikbudristek yang ikut hadir ,” ungkap mantan Rektor Unimed itu.(rel).
