Kebakaran pabrik minyak makan di KIM Mabar, berhasil dipadamkan (ist)
MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM: Kerja keras petugas pemadam akhirnya berhasil memadamkan kebakaran yang terjadi di pabrik pengolahan minyak kelapa sawit di Jalan Mohammad Ilyas/Jermal, Kelurahan Sei Mati, Kecamatan Medan Labuhan, Kamis (24/7) pagi.
“Lebih kurang 15 jam dilakukan upaya pemadaman akhirnya kobaran api di lokasi pabrik telah dapat dipadamkan,” ujar Manager Pusdalops-PB BPBD Kota Medan, Ahmad Untung Lubis bahwa saat ini petugas pemadam tengah melakukan upaya pendinginan untuk mencegah kebakaran susulan.
“Untuk korban jiwa belum bisa dipastikan. Begitu juga penyebab kebakarannya masih dalam penyelidikan pihak berwajib,” terangnya menambahkan.
Untuk diketahui, pabrik pengolahan minyak kelapa sawit yang berlokasi di Jalan Mohammad Ilyas/Jermal, Kelurahan Sei Mati, Kecamatan Medan Labuhan, terbakar, Rabu (23/7) petang.
Kebakaran itu sontak membuat karyawan pabrik dan warga sempat panik dan berhamburan melihat kobaran api yang cukup besar disertai kepulan asap berwarna hitam pekat.
Sejauh ini belum diketahui secara pasti kerugian materil serta penyebab terjadinya kebakaran itu. Tim pemadam kebakaran yang menerima laporan adanya kebakaran bergerak cepat menurunkan sejumlah armada menuju pabrik untuk memadamkan kobaran api.
Dari informasi yang didapat, petugas masih berjibaku memadamkan kobaran api. Sulitnya proses pemadaman itu dikarenakan banyaknya bahan yang mudah terbakar sehingga api dengan cepat menyebar ke hampir seluruh gudang berisi minyak sawit tersebut.
“Kabarnya yang didapat bahwa yang terbakar itu bagian gudang penyimpanan karton dari pabrik,” ungkap warga di sekitaran area pabrik.***
