INVOCAVIT.COM, MEDAN-PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) melanjutkan pembinaan 16 pebalap muda dalam pemusatan pelatihan balap Astra Honda Racing School (AHRS) di Boyolali Jawa Tengah, pada 28 – 30 Oktober 2022.
Memasuki putaran pelatihan kedua, para pebalap diasah lebih dalam pada materi Basic Technical Knowledge dalam mengendarai sepeda motor balap.
Pada tahap pertama, para pebalap yang saat ini masih berusia 10-15 tahun mendapatkan program pelatihan dengan fokus materi pada peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi. Pada tahap kedua ini, para pebalap belajar memahami pengetahuan dasar setting suspensi dan pengetahuan dasar ban sepeda motor balap.
Pemahaman tentang ban sangat penting bagi para pebalap sebagai penentuan strategi pebalap dalam menentukan strategi offensive dan defensive serta pemilihan komponen ban dalam menghadapi balapan di saat kondisi kering dan hujan.
Sedangkan pemahaman mengenai suspensi, sangat dibutuhkan oleh siswa untuk bisa mengetahui pemilihan setting suspensi, termasuk setting preload dan setting kompresi suspensi yang dapat mendukung performa saat bersaing di lintasan balap.
Setelah belajar secara teori, setiap pebalap melakukan praktek di lintasan dengan menggunakan Honda NSF100. Mereka dilatih langsung oleh pebalap nasional dan internasional, yaitu Gerry Salim, Sudarmono, dan Wawan Hermawan, yang ditunjuk sebagai mentor. Perkembangan kemampuan balap mereka pun diukur melalui pengujian time attack dan juga mini race.
General Manager Marketing Planning and Analysis AHM, Andy Wijaya, mengatakan pembinaan ini merupakan langkah awal dalam mengembangkan kompetensi pebalap Indonesia agar sebelum berjuang mencetak berprestasi di kancah balap nasional hingga dunia.
Sementara itu, Gunarko Hartoyo, Corporate Communication and Sales Manager PT Indako Trading Coy selaku main dealer Honda di wilayah Sumatera Utara, mengungkapkan, dengan semangat Satu Hati sangat menyambut baik upaya Honda melanjutkan pembinaan 16 pebalap muda kebanggaan bangsa.
Materi-materi yang diberikan kepada para peserta AHRS secara komprehensif baik teknis maupun non teknis, diharapkan dapat diterima dan dimanfaatkan dengan sebaik-baiknya semua proses pembelajaran dengan maksimal, sehingga nantinya dapat berguna dalam proses perjalanan menggapai mimpi untuk meraih prestasi tertinggi di arena balap.
Dimulai sejak tahun 2010 dan telah meluluskan 150 pebalap hingga saat ini, AHRS menjadi ajang pencarian bibit balap Tanah Air yang konsisten dalam menghadirkan pebalap-pebalap berprestasi yang bersaing di ajang balap Asia dan dunia.
Mario Suryo Aji yang saat ini bersaing di kelas Moto3 World GP, merupakan lulusan AHRS tahun 2016. Sementara itu, Fadillah Arbi Aditama yang saat ini bersaing di Eropa pada ajang FIM JuniorGP merupakan lulusan AHRS tahun 2019. Sebelumnya, Andi Farid Izdihar dan Gerry salim merupakan lulusan AHRS tahun 2010.
Pembinaan dalam program AHRS bertujuan untuk semakin mematangkan kemampuan pebalap belia Tanah Air sebelum terjun ke balapan sesungguhnya di tingkat nasional maupun internasional, seperti Thailand Talent Cup, Asia Thalent Talent Cup, Asia Road Racing Championship, FIM JuniorGP, hingga level dunia di ajang Grand Prix. Pembinaan AHRS akan dilakukan satu kali lagi pada salah satu sirkuit di pulau Jawa. (ri).
