Indra Sjafri Resmi Ditunjuk PSSI Latih Garuda Muda Berlaga Di SEA Games Kamboja 2023

Indra Sjafri saat menukangi Timnas U-19 yang berhasil menjuarai AFF 2013 mengalahkan Vietnam dengan skor 7-6.

INVOCAVIT.COM, JAKARTA- PSSI resmi menunjuk Coach Indra Sjafri sebagai pelatih kepala menangani Timnas Indonesia menghadapi SEA Games 2023 di Kamboja.

 

Indra Sjafri yang merupakan Direktur Teknik PSSI yang selama ini mendampingi STY didaulat menjadi pelatih Garuda Muda dalam rapat exco (Komite Eksekutif) PSSI, Senin 30 Januari 2023.

 

Penunjukkan ini sebagai bagian dari rencana PSSI agar Shin Tae Yong fokus menangani Timnas U-20 yang akan berlaga di Piala Dunia U-20 yang akan digelar di Indonesia pada 20 Mei hingga 11 Juni 2023, sementara itu SEA Games akan berlangsung 5-17 Mei 2023.

Sekjen PSSI Yunus Nusi yang dilansir dari laman resmi PSSI mengemukakan pertimbangan penunjukkan Indra Sjafri “Mengingat semakin dekatnya pelaksanaan SEA Games di Kamboja, PSSI perlu mengambil langkah untuk menunjuk pelatih yang akan bertanggung jawab pada event tersebut.”

Hal ini tentu sejalan dengan dengan program Kemenpora dan KOI tentang persiapan cabang olahraga (cabor) untuk prestasi yang segera akan dilaksanakan, ujar Yunus Nusi.

 

Indra Sjafri, pelatih kelahiran Padang 2 Februari 1963 itu dikenal luas ketika ditunjuk menjadi pelatih Timnas Junior Indonesia, antara lain Timnas U-12, U-17 dan U-19 yang dijuluki Garuda Jaya.

 

Tahun 2012 Indra Sjafri membawa Timnas U-17 menjuarai Hong Kong International Youth Football yang berlangsung dari 27-29 Januari 2012.

 

Tahun 2013 Coach Indra berhasil membawa Timnas U-19 menjuarai Piala AFF U-19 mengalahkan Vietnam 7-6 melalui adu pinalti setelah bermain kaca mata 0-0 hingga menit 120, yang berlangsung di Gelora Delta Sidoarjo 22/9/2023.

 

Indra Sjafri menjadi pelatih profesional yang memfokuskan diri mencari bakat-bakat muda di pelosok tanah air karena kecewa pada sistem rekrutmen pemain.

 

 

Keputusannya ini berdampak pada kariernya, diapun rela berhenti dari jabatannya selaku Kepala Kantor Pos di salah satu kota di Sumatera Barat.

Membekali semangatnya membina talenta muda sepak bola tanah air, Indra Sjafri mengikuti kursus kepelatihan dan memperoleh Lisensi C AFC tahun 1997, berturut-turut naik ke level B tahun 1998 dan level A tahun 1999.

 

Namanya makin melambung bersama Timnas U-19 setelah anak asuhnya yang dikomandoi Evan Dimas berhasil membungkam Korea Selatan juara 12 kali Piala Asia U-19 dengan skor 3-2.

 

Sempat dipecat oleh PSSI tahun 2014 karena gagal membawa Timnas U-19 menuju Piala Asia, namun karir kepelatihannya berlanjut di level klub saat menangani Bali United, Indra Sjafri berhasil membawa eks Tim Pusam FC itu menjadi Klub yang disegani di kompetisi profesional Indonesia.
