MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM – Penjabat (Pj) Gubernur Sumatera Utara (Gubsu) Hassanudin meresmikan Kantor Perwakilan Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan (LPS) I di Lantai 9 Gedung Sinar Land Plaza, Jalan Diponegoro, Medan, Jumat (3/5).
Pj.Gubsu Hassanudin menyambut baik kehadiran LPS di Sumut, tentu dalam upaya meningkatkan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap sistem perbankan nasional dengan fungsi sebagai otoritas penjamin simpanan.
“Kita berharap kehadiran LPS bisa memberi jaminan simpanan nasabah, khususnya masyarakat Sumut. Sekecil apapun itu perlu jaminan,” kata Pj Gubsu.
Hassanudin juga menyebut, pertumbuhan ekonomi di Sumut pada tahun ini diproyeksikan masih tinggi, yakni 4,5% sampai 5,3%. Ini menjadikan Sumut salah satu penyumbang terbesar pertumbuhan perekonomian di Sumatera.
Pertumbuhan ini akan terus terjaga dengan adanya kepastian akan keamanan simpanan masyarakat dan kestabilan dunia perbankan. “Terima kasih memilih Kota Medan sebagai Kantor Perwakilan LPS. Saya sangat apresiasi, semoga bisa memperkuat perbankan di Sumut dan bermanfaat baik bagi warga masyarakat Sumut,” katanya.
Ketua Dewan Komisioner LPS Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa mengatakan pemilihan Kota Medan sebagai salah satu lokasi Kantor Perwakilan LPS atas pertimbangan, karena Medan merupakan salah satu kota besar di Indonesia, dengan tingkat pertumbuhan ekonomi dan transaksi bisnis yang tinggi.
Selain itu, Provinsi Sumut merupakan salah satu pusat ekonomi di Indonesia. Hal ini terlihat dari porsi Produk Domestik Bruto Regional (PDRB) Sumut terhadap Produk Domestik Bruto (PDB) Indonesia sepanjang tahun 2023 sebesar 4,89%, dan pertumbuhan ekonomi Sumut di tahun yang sama mencapai 5,01% yoy.
Sementara dari sisi Dana Pihak Ketiga (DPK) per Februari 2024 di perbankan Sumut mencapai Rp319,9 triliun atau setara dengan 3,91% terhadap DPK Nasional.
Purbaya Yudhi berharap, kehadiran LPS di Medan agar lebih dekat dan dikenal masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan terhadap perbankan nasional, serta mengedukasi masyarakat akan terjaminnya simpanan mereka, sehingga stabilitas sistem keuangan di wilayah Sumatera terjaga dengan baik.
“Kehadiran LPS di Medan melengkapi Komite Stabilitas Sistem Keuangan di Sumut, yang beranggotakan Kementerian Keuangan, Bank Indonesia, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) dan LPS,” jelasnya.
