PWI Sukses Gelar SJI, Hendry Ch Bangun: Ini  Awal Tingkatkan Kinerja dan Profesionalitas

MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM – Sekolah Jurnalisme Indonesia (SJI) yang digelar Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Pusat bekerjasama dengan PWI Sumut, di Hotel Grand Inna, Jalan Balai Kota, Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara resmi ditutup, Jumat (27/9/2024).

Ketua PWI Pusat, Hendry Ch Bangun menyebutkan proses belajar mengajar berjalan sesuai seperti yang diinginkan.

“Kita bersyukur acara ini telah selesai, kita sudah mencapai di titik terakhir dalam pelatihan pendidikan, tetapi sesungguhnya ini justru awal kinerja. Saya kira seluruh pemateri sudah mengajarkan kita bahwa sebagai wartawan kita memiliki tujuan yang mulia, yaitu bekerja untuk kepentingan publik, ” ucap Hendry.

Sekolah Jurnalis ini, ujar Hendry, adalah yang kelima di Indonesia, dibiayai Kementerian Pendidikan.

Sebelumnya SJI digelar di Jawa Barat, Jawa tengah, Kalimantan Selatan, Sumatera Selatan dan Sumatera Utara.

“Rencananya, PWI akan menggelar SJI yang ke enam di daerah Papua. “Rencana SJI akan diadakan di Papua dan Sorong,” jelas ujar Hendry Ch Bangun.

Disebutkan Hendry, program prioritas PWI adalah pendidikan, pendidikan, dan pendidikan. Diantaranya SJI dan Uji Kompetensi Wartawan (UKW).

“Ada satu program yang belum berjalan yaitu sosialisasi pers berkebangsaan”, pungkasnya.

Hadir dalam acara penutupan itu, Ketua PWI Sumut Farianda Putra Sinik, Ketua Bidang Pendidikan PWI Pusat Suprapto, Direktur SJI Ahmed Kurnia, Wakil Ketua Bidang Pendidikan PWI Sumut Sugiatmo, Wakil Sekretaris Riza Mulyadi, Ketua Seksi Bidang Syber, Multimedia dan Fotografi, Fakhrurozi, Ketua Seksi Bidang Hubungan Antar Lembaga, Amru Lubis.

Gubernur Sumatera Utara ke 16 HT Ery Nuradi yang turut hadir dalam acara itu kepada wartawan menyebutkan, SJI adalah program kegiatan yang luar bisa. “Ini program yang luar biasa,”.

Alasannya, ujar Ery Nuradi, melalui SJI wartawan dibekali dengan ilmu-ilmu kekinian di dunia jurnalistik. Sehingga wartawan mampu beradaptasi sejalan perkembangan teknologi.

Kurikulum SJI meliputi, wawasan kebangsaan dalam jurnalistik, teknik wawancara, filosofi wartawan, integritas, Bahasa Indonesia dalam Jurnalistik, Berpikir Kritis dan Kreatif, Jurnalisme Multi Tasking, Jurnalisme Data, Visualisasi, dan Infografis, Fotografi, Membangun Jaringan Kerja Wartawan yang Berintegritas, Videografi dan Pemanfaatan AI, Mencari dan Mengembangkan Berita.

Diakhir kegiatan, peserta diwajibkan membuat karya tulis dan 5 tulisan yang mencapai nilai tertinggi yakni, hasil karya atas nama Amelia (Mimbar Umum), Thamrin Samosir (Top Metro), Putra Ahmad Nugraha (Harian Analisa), Kurnia Hamdani (LKBN Antara) dan Arie Gusti Kurniawan Sinaga (Realitas).

Satu tulisan terbaik peserta utusan Lembaga Pers Mahasiswa (LPM) diraih Suci Say’sah (LPM Pijar USU).
