MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM – Tahun 2024 menjadi tonggak keberhasilan luar biasa Polda Sumatera Utara (Sumut) dalam perang melawan narkoba. Dalam Refleksi Akhir Tahun yang digelar di Aula Tribrata Polda Sumut, Jumat (27/12/2024), Kapolda Sumut, Irjen Pol. Whisnu Hermawan F., mengungkapkan pencapaian institusinya yang tak hanya berfokus pada pengungkapan kasus, tetapi juga perlindungan masyarakat dari ancaman narkotika.
“Perang melawan narkoba bukan hanya tentang menegakkan hukum, tetapi juga menyelamatkan generasi penerus bangsa dari bahaya yang dapat menghancurkan masa depan mereka. Kami bersyukur atas dukungan masyarakat, BNN, TNI, dan semua pihak dalam perjuangan ini,” ujar Kapolda Sumut.
Selama tahun 2024, Polda Sumut berhasil mengungkap lebih dari 5.000 kasus narkoba, dengan barang bukti yang berhasil disita berupa 1.317,52 kilogram sabu, 1.224,25 kilogram ganja, 1,63 kilogram heroin, dan 615.456 butir pil ekstasi. Berdasarkan data estimasi penggunaan, total barang bukti tersebut menyelamatkan 10.789.056 jiwa dari ancaman narkotika.
Keberhasilan ini bukan sekadar angka di atas kertas. Sabu menjadi barang bukti terbesar dengan berat 1.317,52 kilogram, menyelamatkan 5.270.080 jiwa, diikuti ganja dengan 1.224,25 kilogram yang melindungi 4.897.000 jiwa. Barang bukti heroin seberat 1,63 kilogram turut menyelamatkan 6.520 jiwa, sementara 615.456 butir pil ekstasi melindungi jumlah jiwa yang setara.
Lebih lanjut, Kapolda Sumut menegaskan bahwa keberhasilan ini tak lepas dari kolaborasi yang solid antara Polda Sumut dan berbagai elemen masyarakat. “Saya berterima kasih kepada masyarakat yang telah memberikan informasi berharga, Partisipasi aktif masyarakat sangat membantu dalam pengungkapan jaringan narkoba berskala besar yang selama ini sulit dijangkau,” ujarnya.
Kabid Humas Polda Sumut, Kombes Pol. Hadi Wahyudi, juga menyampaikan komitmen Polda Sumut dalam pemberantasan Narkoba pada Senin (30/12/2024). “Ini adalah wujud nyata dari komitmen Polda Sumut untuk memutus rantai peredaran narkoba. Setiap gram yang disita berarti ada nyawa terselamatkan. Ini adalah kerja bersama yang harus terus dilanjutkan,” ujarnya.
Selain pemberantasan, Polda Sumut juga memberikan perhatian khusus pada aspek rehabilitasi. Dengan menggandeng pusat-pusat rehabilitasi, langkah ini menjadi bagian dari strategi komprehensif untuk menyelamatkan pecandu narkoba, khususnya generasi muda, dari lingkaran kecanduan dan menekan angka residivisme.
