Medan, Invocavit.Com-Direktur Uji Kompetensi Wartawan (UKW) PWI Pusat, Rajab Ritonga, secara resmi menutup UKW angkatan 41 dan 42 yang diselenggarakan SPS Sumut dan PWI Sumut di Hotel Le Polonia, Sabtu (30/7/2022).
Rajab dalam sambutannya menyampaikan, hingga saat ini wartawan yang di nyatakan kompeten melalui lembaga uji PWI sebanyak 15.503 orang. “Jumlah ini masih sangat kecil di bandingkan dengan jumlah wartawan yang mencapai ratusan ribu,” katanya.
“Bagi wartawan yang sudah kompeten, ini merupakan titik 0 Km untuk tidak melakukan pelanggaran kode etik. Jadi, harus jaga dan menaati kode etik jurnalistik dan kode perilaku PWI,” imbaunya.
Sementara Ketua PWI Sumut yang juga Ketua SPS Sumut, Farianda Putra Sinik, menyampaikan hasil UKW yang di laksanakan tidak sesuai dengan yang di harapkan. Sebab, masih terdapat peserta yang belum kompeten.
“Terus terang, saya berharap kompeten semua, karena sebelumnya para peserta sudah mengikuti Pra UKW. Seharusnya, Pra UKW itu modal menjadikan para peserta lebih pintar mengikuti ujian sesungguhnya,” katanya.
Hasil hari ini, kata Farianda, menjadi bahan evaluasi pihaknya untuk melakukan kegiatan lebih baik lagi ke depannya. “Jadi, wartawan teruslah belajar,” pintanya.
Salah seorang peserta, Abyadi Siregar, mengucapkan terima kasih kepada SPS dan PWI yang telah melaksanakan Pra UKW kepada para peserta. “Terus terang, Pra UKW sangat membantu, kalau tidak pasti gelapan. Pra UKW sangat penting. Ke depan, ini harus di pertahankan,” harapnya.
Abyadi yang merupakan Ketua Ombudsman RI perwakilan Sumut itu mengaku, agak sedikit was-was mengikuti UKW. “Kalau saya tidak kompeten, pasti ini viral. Tapi, alhamdulillah Pra UKW sangat membantu, sehingga bisa menyelesaikan semua mata uji yang diujikan,” katanya.
Sebelumnya Komisi UKW PWI Pusat, Dedi Syahputra, menyampaikan secara nasional ini merupakan UKW angkatan 630 dan 631, sedangkan untuk regional Sumut merupakan UKW angkatan 41 dan 42.
“UKW angkatan 41 dan 42 ini, peserta yang terdaftar sebanyak 60 orang dan hadir 57 orang. Dari jumlah peserta yang hadir, 48 peserta dinyatakan kompeten dan 9 belum kompeten,” kata Dedi.***
