Hari Ulang Tahun ke-80 Republik Indonesia ini mengusung tema “Bersatu Berdaulat, Rakyat Sejahtera, Indonesia Maju”. Upacara dimulai tepat pukul 09.40 WIB dipimpin oleh Walikota Tanjungbalai Mahyaruddin Salim BB, SE, M.A.P dan perwira Upacara Danramil 08 PB Kapten Inf. Arm Ediyanto dan Komandan Upacara Danramil 17 DB Kapten Inf. Zulfan.
Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka (Paskibraka) yang terdiri dari putra-putri terbaik Kota Tanjungbalai melaksanakan tugas dengan sempurna. Dentuman lagu kebangsaan “Indonesia Raya” berkumandang, diiringi pengibaran Sang Merah Putih, membuat seluruh peserta terdiam khidmat dan memberi hormat.
Turut hadir dalam upacara tersebut jajaran Forum Komunikasi Pimpinan Daerah (Forkopimda), tokoh agama, tokoh masyarakat, organisasi kemasyarakatan, pelajar, pramuka, serta perwakilan dari berbagai instansi pemerintah.
Kapolres Tanjungbalai, AKBP Welman Feri, S.I.K., M.I.K hadir dalam barisan tamu kehormatan. Dalam keterangannya, beliau menyampaikan bahwa peringatan kemerdekaan bukan hanya seremoni, tetapi momentum untuk menanamkan kembali nilai-nilai persatuan dan gotong royong di tengah masyarakat.
“Peringatan HUT ke-80 Republik Indonesia ini menjadi momen penting bagi kita semua untuk mempererat persaudaraan dan kebersamaan. Polres Tanjungbalai akan terus berkomitmen menjaga keamanan dan ketertiban, sehingga seluruh kegiatan masyarakat dapat berjalan dengan aman, damai, dan penuh kebahagiaan,” ungkap AKBP Welman.
