MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM – Siswa-siswi SMP Al-Azhar Medan menoreh prestasi di kancah Internasional dengan raih medali perunggu pada ajang 11th Kaohsiung International Invention and Design EXPO (KIDE) 2024, diselenggarakan oleh World Invention and Intellectual Properti Association (WIIPA) di Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre (KEC) Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Ajang yang dimulai pada tanggal 5-7 Desember 2024 lalu, mempertemukan 32 Negara, diantaranya Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Arab Saudi, Polandia, Kroatia hingga Ukraina.
Karya inovasi siswa-siswi SMP Al-Azhar yakni Basseli Brick berhasil memikat juri dan partisipan yang hadir. Tim SMP Al-Azhar bersaing sengit dengan 31 negara yang turut memamerkan 447 inovasi.
Inovasi berupa pengolahan batu bata dari limbah plastik, sekam padi, dan oli bekas tersebut berhasil menuai banyak apresiasi dan menghantarkan tim SMP Al-Azhar pada bronze medal kategori Engineering, Construction, and Infrastructure.
Tim yang beranggotakan Keyla Zahra Isrovian, Achmad Shaqueel Daffa A, Aqila Faranisa Iskandar, Aysha Alia Andriani, Nadyra Az-Zahra Siregar, dan Farhan M. Saif Daulay itu menuai banyak apresiasi dari berbagai pihak atas inovasi yang diciptakan. Anggita Ulan Nasution, selaku guru pembina mengaku bangga atas pencapaian yang diraih oleh anak didiknya.
