Diskusi dan Bedah Buku Para Pakar Ekonomi di Universitas Sumatera Utara (Ist).

 

MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM –   Sebagai tanaman masa depan, kelapa sawit butuh ketenangan politik. Situasi mendukung membuatnya kian berkembang. Sebaliknya, jika kondisi politik global memanas, sawit pun ikut terombang-ambing dalam putaran masalah.

Dilema itu turut menjadi topik diskusi di Aula Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto, Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (FEB) Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Medan, Senin (4/11/2024). Di sana, digelar Bedah Buku dan Diskusi bertajuk Palm Oil Palm Oil Sustainability: Law, Environment & Agriculture Perspective.

Dalam bedah buku dan diskusi sekaligus peluncuran buku Sawit Anugerah yang perlu Diperjuangkan yang dikeluarkan oleh Indonesia Palm Oil Strategic Studies itu menghadirkan 3 narasumber yakni Guru Besar Fakultas Kehutanan Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanto Santosa, DEA,  Pakar Hukum Kehutanan Dr. Sadino, S.H.,M.H serta Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Rauf, M.P. yang merupakan Guru Besar Fakultas Kehutanan USU.

Tak kalah penting kegiatan bedah buku itu menghadirkan mantan Menteri Koordinator Bidang Perekonomian RI di Kabinet Indonesia Maju (KIM) pada tahun 2015-2019, Dr. Darmin Nasution, S.E., DEA.

Dalam kesempatan itu, ketiga narasumber sepakat bahwa kelapa sawit telah menjadi komoditas strategis Indonesia, yang telah berkembang menjadi komoditas multidimensional karena terbukti memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam menjaga kesinambungan pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia.

Bahkan, keberadaan kelapa sawit dan turunannya termasuk memperkuat neraca transaksi perdagangan, meningkatkan ketahanan pangan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat petani kelapa sawit, serta menunjang ketahanan energi nasional melalui pengembangan Energi Baru Terbarukan (EBT).

Meski demikian kemajuan industri kelapa sawit Indonesia masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, termasuk ketidakstabilan harga, efisiensi dan produktivitas pada mata rantai pasok (hulu-menengah-hilir), belum optimalnya hilirisasi produk yang dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah (value added), serta kesalahpahaman mengenai dampak lingkungan dari pengembangan industri sawit baik dari internasional maupun domestik.

Dalam paparannya para narasumber guna mengatasi berbagai tantangan tersebut diperlukan kolaborasi dan komunikasi yang subtantif, serta advokasi yang efektif secara berkelanjutan antar para pemangku kepentingan, agar dihasilkan berbagai kebijakan yang kredibel, terintegrasi, transparan, dan kondusif, sehingga memberikan manfaat yang sebesar-besarnya bagi kesinambungan pertumbuhan ekonomi jangka panjang (sustainable economic growth) dan peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat kelapa sawit (inklusif).

Sebelumnya, Darmin Nasution dalam statement closing menyebutkan diharapkan melalui buku “Sawit, Anugerah yang Perlu Diperjuangkan”
dia berharap dapat membangun kesadaran berbagai pihak bahwa industri yang merupakan salah satu penopang utama ekonomi Indonesia ini patut mendapatkan perhatian berbagai pihak demi keberlangsungannya.

Membuka bedah buku dan diskusi itu Sekretaris USU Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K)-Fer, menyebutkan bahwa diharapkan melalui kegiatan tersebut bisa memberikan perspektif baru dan mampu memberikan kontribusi dalam merumuskan solusi yang inovatif bagi keberlanjutan industri sawit yang tidak hanya berdampak pada ekonomi tetapi juga mengedepankan keseimbangan ekologi dan aspek hukum yang mendukung keberlanjutan dalam jangka panjang.***

    On the list of upcoming models are GPT-4.1 and smaller versions like GPT-4.1 mini and
    nano, per the report.
