Ketujuh eselon II yang dilantik pada kesempatan ini yaitu Ahmad Rasyid Ritonga sebagai Kepala Biro Administrasi Pimpinan, Juliadi Zurdani Harahap sebagai Kepala Biro Pemerintahan dan Otonomi Daerah, Yuliani Siregar sebagai Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan, Parlindungan Pane sebagai Kepala Dinas Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Desa, Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil, Agustinus sebagai Kepala Dinas Perhubungan, Dwi Endah Purwanti sebagai Kepala Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip, dan Sri Suriani Purnawati sebagai Kepala Dinas Sosial.
“Kalau hari ini masih sama dengan hari kemarin, berarti Saya salah melantik kalian, kalian yang terbaik di bidang kalian masing-masing,” kata Edy Rahmayadi usai pelantikan di Aula Tengku Rizal Nurdi, Jalan Sudirman Nomor 41, Medan, Senin (20/2).
Edy Rahmayadi juga memberikan perumpamaan Pemprov Sumut dengan sebuah orkestra di mana pemain musiknya adalah para organisasi perangkat daerah (OPD) dan Gubernur sebagai dirigennya. OPD sebagai pemain musik memiliki keahlian di bidangnya masing-masing, sehingga harmonisasi bisa terbentuk.

“Ingat ketiga hal tersebut, kalian ini pelayanan publik jadi jangan meminta dilayani, tujuan kita adalah mensejahterakan masyarakat,” kata Edy Rahmayadi.
