Ketua panitia pelaksana Kejurnas yang juga Ketua Pengprov Pertina Sumut, Sabam Parulian Manalu SE,MAP Phd mengungkapkan rasa gembiranya karena Sumut berhak atas gelar juara umum setelah meraih total medali terbanyak.
Kata Sabam, Sumut mendapat 11 medali emas pada hari terakhir Kejurnas, dan akhirnya mengoleksi total 13 medali emas.
Sehari sebelumnya, Sumut sudah mengoleksi 2 medali emas, melalui Vika Pardede dan Rudianto Hutasoit.
Keberhasilan ini, menurut Sabam Manalu juga dilengkapi dengan perolehan 9 perak dan 9 perunggu.
Sabam merasa puas dengan perolehan medali Sumut yang diharapkan bisa menjadi gambaran perolehan medali Sumut dalam cabor tinju PON 2024 mendatang.
“Perolehan emas petinju Sumut paling banyak dari kelompok Elit, dimana kita mendapat 7 emas, 3 perak dan 6 perunggui. Hal ini membuat saya gembira, sebab diharapkan bisa menjadi gambaran perolehan di PON 2024 nanti,” kata Sabam Manalu.
Hal lain yang tak kalah menggembirakan, tim tinju Sumut cukup produktif dalam mendulang medali, dari 41 petinju yang diturunkan, 31 atlet mempersembahkan medali.
“Hampir seluruh petinju Sumut menyumbangkan medali,” kata Sabam Manalu yang juga Ketua Umum Parsadaan Toga Manalu Boru Bere Indonesia itu.
Tropi juara umum Kejurnas Tinju Junior-Youth-Elite 2022 diserahkan langsung oleh Ketua Umum Pengurus Pusat (PP) Pertina Mayjen TNI (P) Komaruddin Simanjuntak dan disaksikan sejumlah pengurus PP Pertina lainnya.
Sebelas emas yang didapat pada hari terakhir Kejurnas dipersembahkan Zahra Khairunnisa, Suzen Ramsy Simangunsong, Felix N Siagian, Rangga R Sembiring, Christian Simanjuntak, Novizar, Yulia Sisilia Siagian, Elda Dara Asa Sirait, JJ Vargas, Jeremi Sihotang, dan Sarohatua Lumbantobing.
Sabam juga mengungkapkan Kejurnas ini, menjadi Kejurnas terbesar yang pernah diadakan di tanah-air, sebab menggabungkan Kejurnas Tinju Elite dan Kejurnas Tinju Junior dan Youth dalam satu event.
“Tercatat jumlah peserta mencapai 350 petinju yang berasal dari 30 provinsi, dari Aceh sampai Papua ikut berpartisipasi,” kata Sabam lagi.
Penampilan petinju Sumut di kelompok pertandingan Elite, cukup memuaskan. Andalan di kelas 71kg, Sarohatua Lumbantobing, mampu meredam perlawanan petinju Jabar, Alvino Nanlohi, dengan kemenangan angka telak.
