MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM – Kepolisian Daerah Sumatera Utara (Polda Sumut) bersama seluruh Polres jajaran turut melaksanakan kegiatan Penanaman Jagung Serentak Kuartal IV sebagai bagian dari dukungan terhadap program swasembada pangan nasional yang digagas oleh Polri.
Kegiatan ini berlangsung serentak di seluruh Indonesia dan dipimpin langsung oleh Wakil Presiden RI Gibran Rakabuming Raka bersama Kapolri Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo dari Desa Bantar Panjang, Tigaraksa, Kabupaten Tangerang, Banten, Rabu (8/10/2025).
Sementara itu, di wilayah Sumatera Utara, pelaksanaan penanaman jagung dipusatkan di Mapolda Sumut dan dibuka secara resmi oleh Kapolda Sumut, Irjen Pol. Whisnu Hermawan Februanto, S.I.K., M.H., yang turut didampingi oleh para Pejabat Utama (PJU) Polda Sumut serta personel Polri.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Kapolda Sumut menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan bentuk nyata dukungan Polda Sumut terhadap program nasional ketahanan pangan.
“Polri berkomitmen untuk terus mendukung pemerintah dalam upaya mewujudkan kemandirian dan ketahanan pangan nasional. Melalui kegiatan ini, kami berharap hasilnya dapat dirasakan langsung oleh masyarakat,” ujar Irjen Whisnu.
Kapolda menegaskan bahwa jajaran Polres di seluruh wilayah Sumatera Utara juga melaksanakan kegiatan penanaman jagung secara serentak di lahan-lahan binaan masing-masing.
Program ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian sekaligus memperkuat sinergi antara Polri, pemerintah daerah, dan masyarakat dalam menghadapi tantangan ketahanan pangan.
