“Saat patroli, Komandan KAL Pulau Siba, Kapten Laut (P) Syaiful Rokhman mendengar laporan adanya kapal nelayan mengalami kebocoran pada pipa pendingin sehingga ruang mesin penuh dengan air, selanjutnya dilaporkan ke Komandan Satrol Lantamal I dan Komandan Lantamal I, ” ucap Dispen Lantamal I Letkol Laut (KH) Rully Ramadhiansyah dalam keterangannya.
Selanjutkan Danlantamal I Laksamana Pertama TNI Johanes Djanarko Wibowo memerintahkan untuk dilaksanakan proses evakuasi secepat mungkin.
“Prajurit KAL Siba berhasil mengidentifikasi kapal itu melalui kontak secara visual dan segera melakukan evakuasi dengan kondisi kapal yang sudah mulai tenggelam.
Tujuh awak kapal yang adalah nelayan itu selanjutnya diperiksa kesehatannya sebelum dititipkan ke posbabinpotmar Posal Medan Labuan Belawan.
Usai menitipkan ke-7 awak kapal KM. Jaya Baru II, Kal P. Siba melanjutkan patroli menuju sektor operasi yang telah ditentukan.
