MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM – Rektor Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Prof Dr Muryanto Amin kembali mengukuhan 6 Guru Besar Tetap USU, di Gelanggang Mahasiswa USU, Kamis (26/10/2023). Pengukuhan ini diharapkan memperkuat progran Enhancing Quality Education for International University Recognition (EQUITY) yang diluncurkan pada tahun ini.
Enam Guru Besar yang dikukuhkan yakni Prof. Luthfi Aziz Mahmud Siregar, S.P, M.Sc, Ph.D. dari Fakultas Pertanian; Prof. Ir. Rosnani Ginting MT, Ph.D, dari Fakultas Teknik; Prof. Saharman Gea, S.Si, M.Si, Ph.D dari Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam; Prof. Dr. dr. Syah Mirsya Warli, Sp. U(K) dari Fakultas Kedokteran; Prof Dr dr Dedy Hermansyah, Sp.B, Subsp.Onk(K) dari Fakultas Kedokteran; dan Dr. dr. Dewi Masyithah Darlan, DAP & E.MPH.Sp.Park. dari Fakultas Kedokteran.
Rektor USU Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos M.Si, dalam sambutannya, menyoroti bahwa Dewan Guru Besar menjadi pilar kekuatan intelektual universitas, yang telah ditetapkan dalam RPJP, Renstra, dan RKA yang dirumuskan setiap tahun anggaran. Dengan tekad yang kokoh, selama 2021-2022, USU telah merangkul semboyan “Transformation Toward the Ultimate”.
“Enam program unggulan kita terdiri dari peningkatan kelembagaan dan adaptasi tugas tridharma, restrukturisasi infrastruktur, revolusi digitalisasi kampus, enterprise kampus, serta upaya kerja sama,” jelas Prof. Muryanto.
Rektor USU berkomitmen untuk memfasilitasi Dewan Guru Besar agar memberikan kontribusi yang produktif. USU telah memulai program perubahan kurikulum, yang memungkinkan mahasiswa untuk belajar di luar kampus, dan menyelenggarakan pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian masyarakat yang kolaboratif melalui digitalisasi dan infrastruktur.
“Program inovasi itu akan terus kita jalankan tanpa henti, dengan memegang prinsip transformasi untuk layanan tridharma,” tutur Prof. Muryanto.
Rektor USU juga optimis bahwa penambahan guru besar akan memperkuat program EQUITY, meningkatkan kualitas dosen dan mahasiswa melalui kolaborasi internasional dan industri dengan mengadakan perubahan dalam pendekatan pembelajaran dan inovasi pada kurikulum.
Sebagai informasi, proses pengajuan Guru Besar USU sejak tahun 2021-2023 berjumlah 102 orang. Sampai hari ini, sebanyak 68 orang atau 66,6% telah mendapatkan SK Pengangkatan Guru Besar dan 19 orang sedang dalam proses perbaikan dokumen persyaratan. (ki).
