MEDAN, INVOCAVIT.COM – Polda Sumut dan jajaran menargetkan panen 100 ribu ton jagung dalam rangka mendukung program ketahanan pangan Presiden RI, Prabowo Subianto.
“Target kita 100.000 ton, dari hasil penanaman yang kita tanam,” ujar Kapolda Sumut, Irjen Pol Whisnu Hermawan Februanto didampingi Waka Polda, Brigjen Pol Rony Samtana dalam acara Penanaman Jagung Serentak 1 Juta Hektare, di Kebun Belakang Mapolda Sumut, Selasa (21/1/2025).
Pananamam jagung serentak 1 juta hektar diadakan diseluruh Indonesia bekerja sama Polri, Kementan RI, GAPKI, perhutani, Inhutani, swasta dan swadaya petani. Acara itu dibuka Menteri Pertanian dan Kapolri Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo yang dipusatkan di Kabupaten Subang Jawa Barat, Selasa (21/1). Acara itu juga diikuti seluruh Kapolda secara virtual.
Dijelaskan Kapolda, pihaknya bersama jajaran memiliki total lahan penanaman jagung seluas 579,89 Hektare (Ha), terdiri lahan produktif (pemanfaatan lahan tidur) Polda Sumut 11,4 ha (3 lokasi), sedangkan Polres jajaran 174,50 ha (63 lokasi).
Sedangkan lahan tumpang sari (pendataan Polres jajaran) Polres 63,90 ha (21 lokasi).
Kapolda menyampaikan, seluruh satuan Kepolisian se-Indonesia melakukan penanaman secara simbolis 1 juta hektare jagung.
Khusus di Polda Sumatera Utara, dari data yang dihimpun, menanam 327 hektare.
“Kita akan terus kembangkan hingga 100.000 hektar dalam rangka ketahanan pangan nasional,” katanya.
Dia menyebut, penanaman jagung serentak ini adalah salah satu moment Polda Sumut bersama Forkopimda melakukan penanaman secara simbolis di seluruh polres jajaran.
“Sehingga seperti yang kita harapkan bisa mencapai 100.000 hektare lahan jagung di wilayah Sumatera Utara. Dengan secepat-cepatnya hal ini bisa terlaksana, sehingga harapan kita untuk ketahanan pangan bisa tercapai,” tuturnya.
Kapolda menyatakan, lahan yang akan ditanami jagung itu berada di beberapa tempat di Polda Sumut dan Polres jajaran juga yang diberikan sejumlah perusahaan.
“Jadi, artinya adalah lahan kosong yang tidak produktif kemudian kita fungsikan. Ada di beberapa PTP yang bisa dilakukan tumpang sari, ada juga beberapa lahan yang tidak produktif kita operasikan dan kita lakukan penanaman jagung,” jelasnya.
“Ke depannya kita akan kumpulkan lahan-lahan tersebut yang tidak berfungsi itu difungsikan kembali,” tambahnya.
Disinggung soal hasil panen, Kapolda menyampaikan,
ada tiga program dari kepolisian distribusi ladang jagung tersebut.
Negara masih melakukan importasi jagung setahun yang lalu ada sekitar 2 juta ton.
“Artinya, secara bisnis nanti setelah kita membuka proses penanaman dan menghasilkan produk jagung yang baik, kita akan melakukan penjualan baik itu melalui perusahaan-perusahaan yang kita kerja samakan, seperti Pokpan, Jaffa atau kita kerjasama dengan Bulog,” paparnya.
Sementara tentang uang hasil panen, Kapolda mengatakan akan dikoordinasikan dengan badan makanan bergizi.
“Kita akan kolaborasi. Karena kita melakukan proses kegiatan ini untuk mendukung makanan bergizi di wilayah Sumatera Utara,” pungkasnya.(jos).
