359 Anak Stunting di Medan, Sekda: Lakukan Penanganan Secara Komprehensif!

INVOCAVIT.COM, MEDAN- Angka stunting di Kota Medan terus mengalami penurunan. Semula tercatat 550 anak yang tumbuh kembangnya mengalami gangguan akibat gizi kronis. Angka itu kemudian mengalami penurunan menjadi 364 anak. Berdasarkan data terakhir yang diperoleh, angka stunting kini 359 anak.

 

 

“Guna menekan angka stunting, seluruh perangkat daerah terkait diminta melakukan penanganan secara komprehensif. Artinya, penanganan yang dilakukan tidak hanya kepada anak stunting, tetapi juga harus diikuti dengan upaya pencegahan sehingga angka stunting yang sudah turun semakin turun lagi,” kata Wali Kota Medan Bobby Nasution diwakili Sekda Wiriya Alrahman ketika memimpin Rapat Koordinasi Tim Penurunan Stunting di Kota Medan di Balai Kota Medan, Kamis (2/2). .

 

Didampingi Asisten Pemerintah dan Kesejahteraan Rakyat Setda Kota Medan H M Sofyan dan Kepala Bappeda Kota Medan Benny Iskandar, Wiriya mengatakan, penanganan stunting yang dilakukan Pemko Medan tidak hanya berdasarkan sampel saja tetapi juga harus diselesaikan berdasarkan seluruh populasi penduduk Kota Medan yang terkena stunting.

 

Jika penanganan yang dilakukan hanya berdasarkan sampel, tegas Wiriya, takutnya seperti ibarat gunung es. Di atas terlihat kecil, namun dibawah terlihat besar. “Saya tidak mau penanganan dilakukan hanya dilihat dari sampel saja. Untuk itu saya minta dilakukan pendataan dengan benar. Apalagi Dinas Kesehatan memiliki petugas terdepan yakni puskesmas dan puskesmas pembantu,” ungkapnya.

 

Wiriya minta perangkat daerah terkait harus berkolaborasi guna melakukan penanganan stunting secara komprehensif.

 

“Indikator-indikator lain harus diperhatikan dalam mengatasi permasalahan stunting, termasuk pencegahannya. Misalnya, mulai anak masih dalam kandung, memperhatikan gizi dan kondisi dari orang tuanya dan lain sebagainya. Ini tidak main-main karena merupakan program nasional,” tegasnya.

 

 

Sebelumnya, Kepala Bappeda Kota Medan Benny Iskandar menyampaikan, rapat koordinasi ini digelar bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi percepatan penurunan stunting di Kota Medan, mereview keberhasilan dan kekurangan program di tahun 2022 agar dapat dilakukan di tahun 2023. Selain itu, imbuhnya, melakukan penguatan koordinasi dan peran dari tugas masing-masing bidang.(hpm)
