Polisi menghentikan tambang Emas ilegal di Madina.(ist).
MADINA, INVOCAVIT.COM – Polres Mandailing Natal bersama personel Brimob berhasil menertibkan aktivitas tambang emas ilegal di Kecamatan Kotanopan, Kabupaten Mandailing Natal, Rabu (4/12).
Operasi yang dipimpin langsung oleh Kapolres Madina AKBP Arie Sofandi Paloh, S.H., S.I.K., ini bertujuan menghentikan penambangan tanpa izin yang menggunakan mesin dompeng dan alat berat. Aktivitas tersebut dinilai berpotensi merusak lingkungan, mencemari sungai, serta mengancam kelestarian ekosistem.
Operasi dimulai pukul 16.00 WIB, dengan tim berangkat menuju lokasi tambang di Desa Jambur Tarutung. Sesampainya di lokasi pada pukul 17.15 WIB, personel menemukan aktivitas penambangan di area seluas tiga hektare yang berada di belakang Masjid Al-Muhtadin.
Warga setempat, bersama sejumlah pendatang dari luar Kecamatan Kotanopan, terlihat sedang melakukan penambangan. Tim mengamankan barang bukti berupa 30 mesin dompeng, 15 alat penyaring emas, tenda pekerja, dan jeriken berisi bahan bakar solar.
Kapolres Madina segera mengimbau masyarakat untuk menghentikan aktivitas tambang ilegal tersebut. Sebagai langkah tegas, lima unit alat penyaring emas dimusnahkan di lokasi, sementara dua mesin dompeng dibawa ke Mapolres Madina.
Tindakan ini disaksikan langsung oleh staf Kelurahan Kotanopan. Kapolres juga menjelaskan bahwa tambang liar dapat menyebabkan kerusakan serius, seperti pencemaran air sungai, kerusakan habitat sungai, hingga ancaman terhadap kehidupan masyarakat yang bergantung pada sumber daya air.
Namun, tak semua masyarakat menerima keputusan tersebut. Pada pukul 19.00 WIB, sekitar 100 warga dari berbagai desa, seperti Hutapadang, Hutarimbaru, dan Kelurahan Pasar Kotanopan, berkumpul di depan Masjid Al-Muhtadin untuk memprotes penutupan tambang. Massa menyanyikan lagu perjuangan dan menyuarakan keberatan terhadap tindakan polisi.
Aksi tersebut sempat memanas ketika sejumlah warga memblokir Jalinsum Medan-Padang, mengganggu lalu lintas dan kenyamanan pengguna jalan. Hingga kemudian Polisi mengambil pendekatan persuasif untuk meredam situasi.
Kasatintelkam Polres Madina beserta personel lainnya memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat tentang dampak negatif tambang ilegal. Setelah dialog, massa bersedia berpindah ke halaman masjid. Pada pukul 20.00 WIB, setelah diberikan imbauan lebih lanjut, massa akhirnya membubarkan diri secara damai.
Kapolda Sumatera Utara Irjen. Pol. Whisnu Hermawan Februanto melalui Kabid Humas Polda Sumut Kombes Pol. Hadi Wahyudi menyampaikan bahwa aktivitas tambang liar tidak hanya melanggar hukum, tetapi juga merusak lingkungan dan mencemari ekosistem sungai. “Kerusakan ini dapat mengancam kehidupan masyarakat, termasuk kualitas air dan kelestarian lingkungan. Penindakan tegas ini adalah upaya menjaga keberlanjutan sumber daya alam untuk generasi mendatang,” tegasnya.
Kepolisian juga mengajak masyarakat untuk berperan aktif melindungi lingkungan dan melaporkan setiap aktivitas tambang ilegal di wilayahnya.***
